Hair Origin Info

Hair Origin refers to the source of the hair, most importantly, the ethnicity of the donor. Hair origins are chemically altered to achieve various straight to curly hair textures such as yaki, kinky curl, etc. All of our hair is virgin remy. “Remy” means the cuticle layers face the same direction, which minimizes shedding and tangling. “Virgin” means the hair of the donor has not been chemically altered with coloring or other chemicals. Wigs and hair units made with pure virgin origins last longer because the hair has not been previously damaged with chemicals. Celebrity Hair And Beauty offers hair with the following origins:

Indian Virgin– Indian hair is the most commonly used high-end hair on the market. It’s available in abundance and used widely for the vast majority of premium hair extensions and wigs. Indian hair is available in natural straight, wavy and loosely curled textures. This hair can be colored and permed with curls or waves and the hair will retain its tensile quality, which enables the wig to last sometimes for years.

• Hair is unprocessed, no dye or curl texture

• It is very soft and lustrous, and thinner than Chinese hair
• The natural straight hair texture can wave up when wet
• Great for all textures ( yaki/wavy/curly ), especially for natural wave
  and natural straight

Brazilian Virgin: This is 100% Brazilian virgin human hair and it comes from the Brazilian Race. Brazilian hair is dark brown to black. It is strong making it a good choice for yaki or coarse textures. This hair also colors well.

• It feels very soft and smooth, and thicker than Indian hair
• It has a lot of body
• The straight texture waves up slightly when wet
• Great for all wavy and curly textures

Chinese Virgin: This is 100% Chinese virgin human hair and it comes from the Asian Race.  Chinese hair is very thick and coarser than Indian hair. Chinese hair is very strong and can withstand double processing with texture plus very light coloring making it a great choice for textures such as yaki and kinky.

European Virgin: This is 100% European virgin human hair and it comes from the Caucasian Race. European hair is soft, lightweight and reddish in color. It is a good choice for Caucasian wigs because the hair is airy and easy to process with coloring and wavy textures. European hair is hard to acquire, thus the premium price.

• Great for silky straight and European virgin straight. 

Mongolian Virgin: This is 100% Mongolian virgin human hair and it comes from the Mongolian Race. Mongolian hair is super silky and straight. It’s a perfect substitute for those looking for a European texture such as Russian hair (which is very expensive and can be a bit fine). Mongolian hair is often used in Sheitels.

Cambodian Virgin – Cambodian Hair is extremely soft but also strong. It possess beautiful natural luster which makes the hair look very luxurious. it holds color well and is great for any hair texture.

Peruvian Virgin– Peruvian hair is thick and grows in naturally straight, wavy or very curly textures. It blends well with normal Caucasian and African-American relaxed hair textures. Peruvian hair is generally dark or light brown and holds color well. Curly textures will become more curly when wet.

Hair Shine – The amount of shine in the hair depends on the hair color. With lighter colors, such as blonde, that have been processed (as is usually the case), it will not be as shiny as darker colors. Jet black will often be the shiniest because it reflects the most light.

Natural Curly or Wavy
Natural curly and wavy textures are most commonly found in Indian and Malaysian textures.

Body Wave, Deep Wave, Latin/Spanish Wave, Deep Curl,  Kinky Curl, Jheri Curl and Spiral Curl
These are all descriptors for different types of wave and curl patterns. The only one that’s universally consistent is the body wave, everything else varies by manufacturer. As a result you cannot order a deep wave from one company and expect all deep waves to be the same, they are arbitrary descriptors used to describe the size and shape of a curl pattern. The best way to ensure consistency in your curl pattern is to use measurements as it is universally understood to describe the size of the curl in millimeters. If you have one curl pattern that you like, ask for the size of the curl and always order that size.

Blonde Hair – It’s very difficult to get nice curl patterns on blonde hair so we recommend that you choose looser curl patterns, such as bodywave for very light hair.

Yaki, Kinky and Deep Curl Textures
For best results it is best to choose natural uncolored hair, jet black, 1B or 2, for these hair textures because the more processing to the hair, the more difficult it is to not over-process the hair.

Textures – Hair textures are created by altering virgin hair origins. Permanent wave solution , bleach and hair dyes are the chemical agents used to process various textures. When choosing a texture for your wig or hair unit, remember that double chemical processes such as curls and light coloring naturally weakens the hair, therefore consider the strongest origins for the best results.
