Medical Insurance Re-imbursement For
Cranial Prosthesis
Your Health Insurance
May Cover the Cost of Your Hair Replacement
Wig Unit
If you suffer from full or partial hair loss
as a
result of a medical related condition such as
alopecia, chemotherapy treatment, lupus, trichotillomania,
etc., then all or part of the cost of your
hair replacement unit may be covered by your
medical insurance provider.
Many insurance companies will cover between
80% -100% of the cost of a "full cranial
prosthesis." Cranial Prosthesis is
the medical term used to describe
various devices used for the replacement of hair
on the head. The
hair loss full lace wigs that we sell fall
into this category.
It is important that when communicating with
your insurance provider that you always
refer to your hair replacement unit as a
"full cranial prosthesis" because if you
request coverage for a "wig" then your claim
will be denied.
